Lets go behind the scenes of An Ordinary Runner. Q. What is the inspiration behind An Ordinary Runner? Nitin: There were 2 main things that inspired the story. 1) Firstly, my own journey as a runner. Going from 800m to 10K took me some time. Obviously, it was not easy. But, along the way I not only developed my running skills, I actually started enjoying it. 2) Secondly, in the past the sports movies I got to watch focused on real athletes (or drew an inspiration in some form), their challenges and accomplishments. When I thought of AOR's script, I had an ordinary man in mind, his routine and the typical experiences many of us go through in day to day lives. In my humble opinion, what makes this story…

I'm glad to announce the release of my first short movie - An Ordinary Runner. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AnOrdinaryRunnerMovie An Ordinary Runner is a short movie about an ordinary man who likes to run, his routine and how running touches various aspects of his life. The movie is reminiscent of an Indian family living abroad. It has a tinge of humor and fun moments as observed in daily life. It conveys a simple message "Running is not just about running, it's about living."

On my recent India visit, I had an opportunity to work closely at a family shop where they sell electronic spare parts. It was amazing to see that in today's world where many of us think "ek rupee mein kuch bhi nahin aata" (you won't get anything for one rupee), we shell out thousands of rupees just on popcorn and samosa; there exist businesses where people are doing business on just 1 rupee margin. It may not be news to everyone. But, I'm sure many people may find it hard to believe. It is a humble experience that is a reminder to not just value money and resources around you, but be more mindful of how you spend and use these. Happy Independence Day!
